Our Story
HIS EAST was established in 2021 by the Swiss entrepreneur couple Andrea and Daniel Schoeni. It is a subsidiary of a foundation called HIS based in Switzerland.
The Schoeni family have built their personal lives and enterprises on Christian values and biblical principles.
The Schoeni family owns an internationally-operating group of companies with more than 1,000 employees and it goes back 100 years. The two sectors that the group comprises of are producing high quality food products and providing transportation and logistics services.
The founders’ engagement in Moldova began in 2017 at a conference for local entrepreneurs. The Swiss couple noticed not only the need but also the potential of the Moldovan economy and its people. This is why it was decided to launch the first project of HIS abroad in the Republic of Moldova.
The goal for the Moldovan entity is to create and provide jobs locally, so that people can build their lives in the Republic of Moldova and do not have to leave their families to go searching for work abroad.
Profits that HIS EAST generates are being reinvested on the one hand to create more jobs domestically and, on the other hand, flow into social projects particularly in the poor region of Stefan Voda.
